AMERICAN PIZZA

   Delicious, on soft, tender, airy dough, instead of pie! The toppings can be changed to your liking, making sweet and unsweetened versions of this pastry!

   Ingredients for 2 servings:

For the dough::

- Milk 250 ml.

- Dry yeast 7g.

- Sugar 2 tbsp.

- Salt 1 tsp.

- Eggs 1pc.

- Butter 50 gr.

- Flour 2.5 cups.

- Vegetable oil 3 tablespoons.

For the filling:

- Ketchup 2 tablespoons.

- Mayonnaise 2 tablespoons.

- Champignons 200 gr.

- Ham 200 gr.

- Tomatoes 150 gr.

- Hard cheese 100 g.

- Italian herbs to taste

Step by step cooking

   1. Heat the milk until warm, so that the dry yeast begins its work faster. In a dough bowl, combine the warm milk and butter. Wait for the butter to melt. Do not heat the milk too hot - this will kill the yeast.

   2. Add the egg, salt, sugar and dry yeast to the bowl. Stir to combine. Sieve the flour through a sieve to oxygenate it. Then gradually add the flour to the bowl and knead the dough. Do not rely on the amount of flour, but on the consistency of the dough.

   3. When the dough is almost no longer sticky to your hands, do not add more flour. Pour a little vegetable oil and knead the dough with your hands. The finished dough is soft and tender. Cover the bowl with a towel and leave it in a warm place for 1 hour to rise.

   4. For the filling, wash the mushrooms and slice them. Cut the ham into slices. For the sauce, mix the ketchup and mayonnaise together. Cut the tomatoes into circles. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

   5. After an hour the dough will have visibly grown in size, divide it into 2 parts. This will make two pizzas.

   6. Roll out the dough into a circle, about 25-30 cm. Brush the surface of the dough with mayonnaise sauce. Sprinkle cheese over the dough and arrange the sliced mushrooms.

   7. Place the ham and tomatoes. Sprinkle some more cheese on top. Add a couple pinches of dried Italian herbs. Place the pizza in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Refer to your oven when baking.

   8. The finished pizza will become ruddy and appetizing. The dough will bake around the edges. Remove the pizza from the oven, cool slightly, and serve! Bon appetit!
